Making Your Albums Albums I

Create a new playlist and cut "Pry, To", "Bugs", "Aye Davanita" and "Stupidmop"

Then trim the first 0:18.94 of "Last Exit",
the first 0:05.2 of "Corduroy" and
the first 0:22.5 of "Better Man".

I think that the tracklist looking less daunting without the 15 minutes of "songs" added. I suppose "Bugs" could be left in, but in the interest of preserving the Rock aspect of this album, I left it with the weird. Pearl Jam wouldn't be this consistent for the rest of their career.

Maybe I Will, Maybe I Won't

Mattress by Beck

Another installment of my new song recorded in the first day (ok, probably about 30 hours) This is the first time I've ever played a song tuned down a half step. I was stupid and should have turned the light on the right towards me. It got so much darker outside during a few false takes and I didn't think how much iMovie and YouTube compression would darken it more.

I don't know why I don't warm up my voice before recording. I think that I was able to capture fairly decent sound though through the digital camera by only amplifying my voice. I think the delay is sort of cool and adds a neat effect, but could probably be timed better. Whatever. I'm just trying to get myself to record efficiently. I've really got to do some more going-through-the-motions vocal exercises because as much as screaming along to my iPod all day helps with my phrasing, it makes me sloppy. Some of the notes sound dreadful to me, but they don't feel that way while I'm singing them. If I can get my voice stronger, I would really like to record some songs that I've pretty much know the lyrics to on the second or third run through. That's when they are truly exciting to me. Polishing the singer, not necessarily the song (that make any sense?).
